No, softballs aren’t soft and unfortunately that’s a misconception you too will have to correct if you choose to join us.

A variant of Baseball; yep, that’s about all softball in ACS has with baseball on TV.

ACSoftball is a family of players that love the game and love each other. We may not have the most resources, our tee-stands and backstop may be almost-functional, but ACSoftball makes up for its lack of resource with its sense of family and warm environment for learning.

A day in Softball would look similar to most other CCA’s. We train after school on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. On all these days, we train until about 6.30pm. It should be said that getting bruised in softball is fairly common because many people use the field at once and the odd, poorly thrown softball may occasionally catch you in the head where it hurts alot, or in the shin where it hurts most.

All in all, softball is a CCA mainly targeted towards players with past experience in the sport or else willing to train hard to catch up with the rest and if you fall into either category, on behalf of the ACSoftball family, we welcome you!

Editor’s note: There is also a girl’s softball team that began in 2016.

Year To Year AC
Year To Year is a student-run website dedicated to helping you to find out more about school and its banalities/trivialities/peculiarities. We value the unique experiences of seniors and alumni who have walked the journey before, and the wisdom they can impart. We are not formally affiliated to ACS (Independent), and do not reflect any official stance or viewpoint of the school. We are constantly looking out for passionate people interested in joining us as writers or designers to make a difference to the school community. Contact us at joinus@yeartoyear.ac to help out!
